About photo splitter

What this website provides, how its tool works and where its limits are.

A focused tool

photo splitter at photosplitter.org provides a free browser tool for dividing one image into rows, columns or a square grid. The output is a ZIP of numbered PNG files. The site maintainers are responsible for the tool and its instructions; questions and corrections can be sent through the contact page.

How the result is made

Your browser reads the selected file, shows cut lines and draws each source region into a separate canvas. A ZIP is built on your device when you request a download. Integer cut boundaries cover the source image without dropping the last row or column of pixels.

The limits of this version

The tool supports 2–9 pieces in one direction and 2 × 2 or 3 × 3 grids, one image at a time, up to 10 MB. It does not crop, resize, sharpen, preserve animation or metadata, offer batch processing or publish to social networks. It exports PNG rather than preserving the source format.

Instructions and independence

The practical guide uses worked examples based on these controls and explains how to check downloaded pieces. If instructions and behavior disagree, send the page URL and steps to reproduce the issue. photo splitter is an independent tool and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Instagram, Meta or Google.
